Sr. Manager, Retail Channel
The Lighting & Products business unit boasts a rock-solid track record of delivering reduced energy consumption on behalf of our utility clients. This business has grown rapidly the last few years and has an extensive network of trusted trade allies, retail partners, manufacturers, and measurement and verification partners. This team leverages those relationships to deliver the energy savings or peak power solutions our clients most desire. Our team has an immediate need for a Sr. Manager, Retail Channel Manager based out of Ecos’ Portland, Oregon office.

In this role, you will be responsible for retailer engagement and participation in all energy efficiency programs delivered through assigned channel. This includes relationship building and establishing promotion activities agreed upon by client (in store promotions, assignment of support staff, training of clients on product features, etc…).

Role Description
As our ideal candidate, you will have management and oversight of all aspects of retail engagement and establishment of program promotional assignments. You will understand and develop and coordinate promotional calendar with retailer, and development of test of promotional tactics within the store for success metrics and program development. You will identify key cost effective promotional methods by region and by retailer, and develop deep retail relationship to help create wide spread program delivery across all regions.

You may train and develop direct reports and/or contract employees in support of program design and budget. You will implement retail incentive programs, and partner with program delivery teams to accomplish agreed upon goals by client and retailers. You will report retailer activity and participation to broader account management teams.

Role Competencies
As our successful candidate, you will have a Bachelors degree and 8 years of experience in retail manufacturing, energy efficiency, renewable energy, or related field. An advanced degree in business management, environmental policy, energy management is preferred. You will have a minimum 5 years of experience in both client relationship management and team management, plus 3 years of experience leading and directing others. You will have proven experience leading, managing, developing and mentoring is required.

In this role, successful management of and be a member of cross-functional and matrix-managed teams is required. You will have a demonstrated understanding of retailer business operations; promotional planning cycles, key promotional tactics, buying cycles, seasonality of products, retail decision making processes, profit drivers, stocking patterns. You will have the ability to build relationships with key retail vendors and associations. You will have demonstrated knowledge of energy efficiency and Energy Star products including consumer electronics.
You will have demonstrated knowledge of industry supply chain, consumer retailer and manufacture influencers, and demonstrated knowledge of basic statistics and ability to apply to retail sales numbers. You will possess strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in diverse and matrixes organizations, and proven project management skills. You will have presentation and strong communication skills, written and oral. You will have CRM systems knowledge, and demonstrated customer service skills.
