1000 Friends of Oregon is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to working with Oregonians to enhance our quality of life by:

We are currently accepting applications for a part-time Communications and Social Media Intern. The position is approximately 15 hours per week.
This internship is an opportunity for hands-on experience working on many aspects of external communications for a statewide advocacy group. The internship is unpaid, but course credit could be made available.
Under the supervision of our Communications Director, this internship is geared toward motivated individuals seeking hands-on experience in social media and web-based applications. Current students or recent graduates in a related field are encouraged to apply. Please include a summary of your relevant experience, coursework and/or degree in your cover letter.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Create and help implement a social media plan with goals and deliverables.
2. Edit and update 1000 Friends’ web site, Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr pages.
3. Track online activities & provide reports.
4. Assist with writing and production of e-mail communications.
Job Knowledge and Abilities:
1. Highly skilled in computer operations and common software applications. Basic HTML knowledge, as well as knowledge of applications like Photoshop, a plus.
2. Experience with online tools such as Drupal, Facebook and Twitter
