The Agency Chief Safety Officer provides direction and leadership for the development and execution of its safety and occupational health program strategies:
Leads the integration of Bonneville’s safety culture into agency strategy, objectives, day-to-day activities, and communication.
Manages the design, development and deployment of a broad range of safety programs to meet agency goals;
Serves as a senior advisor to top agency officials and other federal agencies on all matters related to health and safety within Bonneville Power Administration;
Partners and collaborates with senior leaders across the organization to assure effective implementation of program goals and objectives;
Serves as a key policy formulator and decision-maker for long- and short- range strategic planning in support of the overall Bonneville mission;
Ensures compliance with BPA and DOE Safety objectives, OSHA regulations and other applicable federal, state and local requirements;
Manages and oversees inspections, investigations, appraisals and makes recommendations concerning safe work practices and procedures; and
Serves as the Executive Secretary of the Central Safety and Health Committee.
