Advertising Sales Manager for Green Media Company

Celilo Group Media, a leading green media company, is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Advertising Sales Manager for Chinook Book. Chinook Book print, mobile and online products are unique localized green media promoting local and sustainable businesses and resources. The sales territory for this position includes Portland metro and management of select West Coast and national accounts. This is an exciting opportunity with an established and growing green media company.

Main Responsibilities:
• Consistently achieve advertising sales goals set in collaboration with management;
• Continually prospect new accounts and manage established advertising sales relationships;
• Maintain effective follow-up with advertising accounts and provide excellent customer service;
• Maintain accurate sales forecasting year-round and prepare weekly sales progress reports for management;
• Maintain daily log of sales activity in Salesforce.com;
• Achieve a modest annual circulation sales goal;
• Manage collection and invoicing of all advertisements sold and meet all deadlines;
• Contribute ideas and feedback to support advertising sales promotion initiatives and growth of overall brand awareness;
• Perform various administrative duties, such as mailings and answering phones;
• Collaborate with market teams and employees in main office in Portland, Oregon.

Requirements:
• Proven consistent success setting and achieving sales goals;
• 2+ years advertising sales experience or 2-4 years relevant sales experience;
• BA or BS required;
• Self-motivated, collaborative, solution-oriented, outgoing, positive, respectful personality;
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal by phone and in-person, and written including strong abilities in writing effective sales proposals;
• Proficient with spreadsheets, word processing and contact management software (Salesforce.com experience a plus);
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and keyboarding skills;
• A basic understanding and strong interest in sustainability issues;
• Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends for special events;
• Willing to travel occasionally for trade shows and sales opportunities;
• Ability to lift 30-lb boxes of books; and
• Valid driver’s license.

This is a full-time position with a base salary plus commission commensurate with experience. Medical and dental benefits begin after 90 days of employment. All Celilo Group Media employees have the option to participate in the company retirement plan after two years of employment.
