JOB SUMMARY: Adelante Empresas’ Business Training Coordinator will be responsible for
group and individualized entrepreneurial training for Spanish speaking entrepreneurs in western
Washington County. These trainings include a semi-annual business development class,
continuing education trainings and seminars and one-to-one business coaching. The trainer will
further develop an established curriculum for the classes and work to develop a support model
for providing post-training technical assistance. In addition, the coordinator will be responsible
for supervising paid professional coaches who will also be working with participating
businesses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Teach semi-annual 10-week business development classes to aspiring Latino
entrepreneurs.
· In coordination with Adelante Empresas staff, adapt the curriculum as necessary to fit the
needs of the class and its participants.
· Conduct community outreach to recruit class participants and prepare individuals for the
class, including facilitation of orientation meetings in the community.
· Provide graduates of the class with one-to-one counseling to assist them in creating an
action plan and implementing the knowledge acquired in the business class.
· Conduct semi-annual evaluations of the classes and the one-to-one counseling sessions.
· Supervise professional coaches, including schedule coordination.
· Track all data related to the classes, one-to-one counseling and coaching sessions.
· Be an active member of the Micro Enterprise Team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience in success small business ownership.
· Bilingual-bicultural Spanish/English.
· Experience teaching/facilitating low-income and Spanish speaking populations.
· Knowledge of small business management and growth in Oregon.
· Commitment to the mission of the organization.
· Demonstrated initiative, discipline, and ability to perform under pressure and to meet
deadlines.
· Demonstrates personal responsibility and focuses on next steps to resolve or fix problems
when they arise. Turns problem situations into learning opportunities.
· Ability to work with diverse populations, particularly people of color, low-income people
and persons with wealth.
· Strong demonstrated commitment to work for justice with marginalized communities.
· Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook.
· Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Salary and Benefits: $33,000-$34,500 depending on experience.Employee health and dental
insurance coverage, 401(k), four-week vacation, sick leave, paid holidays.
