Volunteers needed for Columbia Springs Family Fieldtrip Day

Volunteers needed to assist with outdoor family environmental education event this Saturday, June 4th. Needs include:

• Registration Assistance (3-4 volunteers) 9:30am-12:30pm, noon-2:30pm… We are expecting 150-200 guests at this event and we need 3 to 4 more individuals to help us staff the registration/check-in booth and adjacent passport/program station. A training will be provided at 9:30am, and a second training at noon. Volunteers are needed for both shifts, but especially the first shift.

• Teacher Assistants (4-8 volunteers) 9:30am-noon, 11:30am-2pm… We have four engaging hands-on learning stations that would really benefit from the help of 1-2 volunteers to assist the educators at the stations, especially with crowd management and passports. The stations that need help are: macroinvertabrate investigations in the wetlands; soil and decomposition exploration; fish dissections; and watershed learning with the stream table. A training will be provided at 9:30am, and a second training at 11:30am.

• Fish Print Station (1-3 volunteers) 9:30am-2pm (shorter shifts can be available as well)… One of the stations is a fun art project using rubber fish and paint to create fish prints that kids can bring home. We need just a couple more volunteers to assist in facilitating this project. Training will be provided at 9:30am.
