Celebrate Earth Day in the Garden with the Oregon Environmental Council!

Event Date:
Saturday, April 23, 2011 - 10:00am - 3:00pm

Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity this Earth Day?!

Come celebrate Earth Day with Oregon Environmental Council! Spend Earth Day outside with your community working on a local garden, whose harvest will be donated to Northwest Portland Ministries, a food bank that helps people in need here in Portland. We will be pulling ivy off of trees, getting rid of blackberry vines, planting fruit trees and bushes, digging and getting dirty. Wear your gardening clothes, and bring a pair of gloves and your friends! There will be work for everyone, music to rock out to, space for socializing, and refreshments to snack on - but please bring a lunch and plenty of water if you plan on staying all day.

Join us from 10am-3pm at 8634 NE Glisan (at 87th) on Saturday, April 23rd, and be sure to bring some gardening gloves, work clothes, lunch and water. If you have colleagues, friends or family that are looking for something to do for Earth Day, please bring them along!!

To RSVP please contact Ashley at volunteer@oeconline.org or 503.222.1963x115 and let us know how many folks will be joining you. We look forward to seeing you there!
