Trees

Crew Leaders are trained volunteers who are crucial to plant trees properly and lead groups of volunteers at more than 65 different planting events this planting season (Oct-Apr). Friends of Trees is aiming to plant over 5,000 street and yard trees in the Portland/Vancouver area for our award-winning Neighborhood Trees program and around 25,000 native trees and plants in our Green Space Initiative program this season. Help us make those goals a reality!

We are currently seeking highly-organized and detail-minded candidates who enjoy working with others, excel in communication skills and are motivated to help recruit and retain the amazing volunteers that help make Friends of Trees so successful.

The City of Vancouver and Friends of Trees are looking for two energetic and outgoing individuals who will become the public face of our existing tree planting program. The goal of this team will be to grow Vancouver’s Urban Forest by educating citizens about the importance of planting trees through canvassing in neighborhoods throughout Vancouver.

Ideal candidates will be personable, creative, adaptable, comfortable with door-to-door canvassing and community outreach and education, and enthusiastic about planting trees.

Salary: $29,000 - $33,000
Benefits eligibility: Eligible for full benefits
Hours: Tuesday – Saturday during planting / outreach season; M-F rest of year. Fairly flexible
within that framework, establishes schedule and makes changes known
