YEA is not your typical summer camp, and our staff are not your typical summer camp staff. Quite possibly the best job in the world, counselors at our camps work with youth who are passionate about making a difference, and bring a level of experience, training, and positive energy and enthusiasm that makes our camps so extraordinary. Our campers and staff are amazing!

Each of our camp sessions are eight days long. The Portland camp is July 27-Aug 3. A four-day mandatory staff raining will take place prior to camp in Portland July 23-26.

Location

YEA Camp is a youth leadership summer camp for teens who care about community service, activism and social justice. The campers are 12-17 year olds. The Oregon Camp is July 27-Aug 3 with a 4 day staff training prior to the start of camp in Portland.

The Oregon camp runs August 7-14th with a mandatory three-day staff taking place August 4, 5 & 6.

Counselors will commit to mentoring 2 to 3 youth after camp ends to help the mentees bring their plans into action. Mentoring will take place over phone calls, and in several reunions during the year. Counselors will be coached throughout their mentoring by a YEA Camp director. The time

Overview:
Junk to Funk, a socially responsible business providing Trashion (trash + fashion) edutainment for the masses, seeks energetic, skilled and experienced educators to work with the Junk to Funk Trashion Collective to provide engaging camp activities for youth ages ten to eighteen. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, an enthusiasm for teaching and an interest in creative re-use to help forward Junk to Funk’s commitment to restore the earth by creatively transforming our engagement with stuff. This is a seasonal position.
