Kitchen Commons matches kitchen resources with community need, making it affordable and practical to cook healthy food, putting the dream of a food business in reach of low-income entrepreneurs, and advocating for food justice. We envision a network of community kitchens throughout the metro area where neighbors gather to share food, skills and tools, nurture business start-ups, and build community.

We are seeking two enthusiastic individuals to join our team: an Events & Marketing Intern and a Volunteer & Membership Coordinator intern.

Oregon Environmental Council (OEC) is recruiting a Research Intern to assist our Legislative Director.

Job responsibilities for a Research Intern include policy and legislative research, monitoring the 2013 Oregon Legislative session, including attending hearings at the Capitol, and other projects as needed. A qualified candidate will have some experience in a policy, legislative or political field and an interest in environmental issues.

A successful candidate for this internship will exhibit a passion for sustainable building principles. The residential technical department intern is a temporary, part-time, unpaid position responsible for support and project-based assignments that advance Earth Advantage Institute’s mission. In this capacity, the intern will do the following:

• Assist with scheduling green home certification inspections in the Portland metropolitan area
• Learn the process flow of the technical department and help create efficiencies

Oregon Environmental Council seeks a Part Time Technical Support Intern to help maintain workstations. The ideal candidate is a technical student seeking on-the-job experience.

The Intern’s Responsibilities will Include:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks for approximately 25 workstations
- Communicate the needs of the users to the Tech Team, comprising 2 staff and 1 outside consultant

Location

Commitment: at least 3 months
Hours: a minimum of 10-15, those hours may be worked in a flexible combination and are at the discretion of the intern and the supervisor.

Several U.S. states have policies to support the design, manufacture and use of products that are safer for people and the environment through the application of green chemistry and engineering. Currently, we’re working on developing similar policies in Oregon. The Intern will conduct research to answer the following questions which will help influence our policy work in this area moving forward:
