Public Outreach/Events Internship - Portland/SW Washington - Summer 2012
Are you a high-energy, can-do, detail-oriented person who is excited to interact with the public and learn about local communities and events? If so, we need you! EnviroIssues’ is seeking a public outreach and events intern for Summer 2012 to conduct outreach in southwest Washington.
Solar Oregon is a nonprofit organization that provides education and community outreach encouraging Oregonians to choose solar energy. We serve as a connector and source of information for Oregon’s solar community. This internship will focus on the development of Solar Oregon’s monthly networking events, Solar Drinks and the Goal Net Zero Interest Group meetings. In addition, the intern will provide marketing and logistical support to Solar Oregon workshops and community outreach events.
A successful candidate for this internship will exhibit a passion for sustainable building principles; an ability to communicate with those that are peers through project managers; exhibit a high level of managing detail work and organization skills. Assist LEED for Homes Program Manager with program and project administrative functions to ensure program standards are maintained. Assist in the development of tools to successfully deliver the program to targeted markets.
