The MFC is growing fast, gaining members and momentum towards opening a cooperative grocery store in the Montavilla neighborhood. We have reached a membership milestone and are now are seeking to assemble a development board - a distinctive body of Co-op members focused on and committed to making our cooperative grocery store a reality.

Market manager wanted for the Moreland Farmers Market. This person must be an enthusiastic and organized individual who can manage day-to-day operations and continue the market’s growth. The Market Manager works with market vendors, customers, volunteers, and the community. This requires an on-site presence at the market during all market hours (Wednesdays for approx. 21 weeks per year plus special events), as well as off-site work during non-market hours.

The Northwest Earth Institute (NWEI) seeks a highly motivated and reliable individual for our internship program. The Higher Education (HE) Outreach intern will work closely with The Director of Higher Education to increase the use of NWEI discussion courses at colleges and universities around the country. The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, starting in September 2010. The Intern is expected to work part-time (10-20 per week). Hours are flexible between 9am-3 pm, Tuesday-Friday.

Youth Empowered Action (YEA) Camp, a non-profit organization serving youth 11 to 16 in an overnight, summer camp and year-round mentoring program, is hiring for summer 2010. This is our first session of YEA Camp in Portland and this summer we will serve 18 youth and will have 4 counselors in addition to 2 kitchen staff and two supervisors.

YEA Camp Portland runs August 14-21, 2010 in Molalla, OR (25 miles from Portland). In addition to camp, there will be a 3-day staff training weekend August 11-13th before camp.
