YEA is not your typical summer camp, and our staff are not your typical summer camp staff. Quite possibly the best job in the world, counselors at our camps work with youth who are passionate about making a difference, and bring a level of experience, training, and positive energy and enthusiasm that makes our camps so extraordinary. Each of our camp sessions are eight days long. The Portland camp is July 27-Aug 3. A four-day mandatory staff raining will take place prior to camp in Portland July 23-26.

This position is responsible for planning and leading environmental education activities, preparing materials, and supervising participants (ages 4-14) in a summer full of week-long day camps. Hiking, field trips, games, crafts, and kids that love nature make this an awesome summer job.
YEA Camp is a youth leadership summer camp for teens who care about community service, activism and social justice. The campers are 12-17 year olds. The Oregon Camp is July 27-Aug 3 with a 4 day staff training prior to the start of camp in Portland.

Solar Oregon is a nonprofit organization that provides education and community outreach encouraging Oregonians to choose solar energy. We serve as a connector and source of information for Oregon’s solar community. This internship will focus on the development of Solar Oregon’s monthly networking events, Solar Drinks and the Goal Net Zero Interest Group meetings. In addition, the intern will provide marketing and logistical support to Solar Oregon workshops and community outreach events.
This position will be active from April-October, with variable hours depending on month and need. June through August will average 30-40 hours per week, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and possibly Mondays; April, May, September and October will average 8-30 hrs per week with schedule to be determined.
Wage is $12.50/hour, but may be higher dependent on experience.
The primary function of this position is seasonal staffing of the Healthy Homes exhibit.This position will perform a variety of duties to support public outreach and education related to Metro’s toxics reduction, natural gardening and waste reduction programs. The ideal candidate is outgoing, self-starter with exceptional oral and social communications skills and experience with events outreach. Staff in this position will coordinate, schedule and conduct outreach and education at community events and Metro sites. The position may coordinate the work of volunteers and interns.
