The Multifamily Community Outreach Specialist will provide direct resource conservation education and outreach to affordable and low-income housing communities through building relationships with on-site property managers, residents and resident service coordinators. Primary focus will be on:

Assessment of baseline recycling at multiple sites including field visits and data collection and strategic educational outreach through presentations, resident engagement, youth mentoring, development of ‘green teams’, etc.;

Increased City of Portland presence at community events and engaging residents around recycling (primary) and other environmental concerns including thoughtful consumption, increased food security and climate change (secondary);
•
Program evaluation and development including data entry, analysis and review
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to support environmental stewardship with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with disabilities and households whose primary language may not be English. While the program sponsor is BPS, the position will be situated at the Housing Authority of Portland and most of the work will be performed in the field.
