Environmental, economic and social sustainability will be featured on an all-day tour of Portland cohousing communities on Saturday, June 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants will travel by bus to four communities including Daybreak Cohousing, Cascadia Commons Cohousing Community, Kailash Ecovillage and Peninsula Park Commons. The interactive tour will include presentations by cohousing leaders, fact sheets and site maps of each community. Participants will meet cohousing community members and tour homes.
Join builders, designers and forest professionals on a tour (by bike or van) that tracks local wood resources in Portland from the forest to the finished product.

Residential tax credits and incentives often pay for up to 80% of the cost! Participants will come away with basic knowledge about solar energy systems and will be prepared to do more focused research on their own and start working with a contractor.
The Alberta Coop invites all interested community members and garden enthusiasts to a biking tour of community gardens in NE Portland on Sunday, August 1. It'll be a great opportunity to see the variety of ways people are gardening cooperatively in the city. We'll meet at the Coop at 10 am, and depart for the first garden at 10:15. We'll also be taking a short break for a lunch picnic in Fernhill Park, so bring along a lunch or something to share! The tour should wrap up around 1 pm.
