How did a Portland--‐sized urban center launch an energy-efficient building program that helped cut regional energy consumption by 10% while maintaining economic viability? Through a combination of measures, Brussels has accomplished this goal. In fact, Brussels is already in alignment with the European energy goals for 2020 and 2050.

Oregon Sustainable Buildings Open for Public Tours
Oregon high performance homes and offices will open their doors to the general public this weekend as part of the International Passive House Days. While 1000s of buildings are participating in Europe, the eight buildings open in Oregon from November 9 to 11 represent the largest group of buildings in the U.S. participating this year.
Certified Passive House Consulting (CPHC) Training Course with Earth Advantage Institute
Passive House certification represents one of the highest energy standards available for buildings today, with the promise of reducing heating energy consumption by up to 90%. These super-insulated, air-tight buildings are designed to maximize passive solar gain, minimize energy losses, and provide superior indoor air quality. Passive House projects can benefit greatly from the expertise that Certified Passive House Consultants (CPHCSM) provide.
What exactly is Goal Net Zero? Simply put, if your home, office, apartment complex or any other building you own consumes less energy than it produces annually, you are net zero.
Solar Oregon’s Goal Net Zero Tour includes a guided tour of 5 homes in the Portland Metro area plus a panel discussion on Net Zero concepts and technology. Box lunch and transportation included. Get the confidence to begin your own journey to net zero!
