The Oregon Sustainability Center will achieve net-zero energy and water performance — going far beyond the industry standard of LEED Platinum. It will also be the tallest mixed use building striving to meet the Living Building Challenge ™. The OSC project will also serve as the nucleus for the Portland State University Ecodistrict. Lisa Petterson will discuss the technical and design innovations the project team has employed to meet the lofty goals of this groundbreaking project.
Please join us Tuesday, April 5th at 7pm for the next Green Drinks event featuring Chandra Brown, Vice President of Oregon Iron Works.
Chandra started with Oregon Iron Works as a temp in 1993 and has worked her way to the top. Oregon Iron Works manufactures the only American-Made Streetcars and wave and tidal energy devices, along with a host of more common things made of metal.
Time: Doors open at 6:30pm, the speakers starts promptly at 7:00. Announcements will follow the speakers and networking will continue until 8:45.

Roger Pielke, Jr.
Political scientist Roger Pielke, Jr. maintains that we'll make better progress on climate if we focus on energy innovation. Pielke is Professor of Environmental Studies at University of Colorado, and has held leadership positions at NCAR, CIRES, and the Breakthrough Institute. He is also author, co-author or co-editor of seven books, including The Honest Broker: Making Sense of Science in Policy and Politics, and The Climate Fix: What Scientists and Politicians Won't Tell you About Global Warming.
