Education reformers would like us to believe that our public school system is in shambles, teachers are failing our students, and as a result we need to implement more rigorous methods of evaluation (ie. standardized testing). Are we really any worse off than we were 50 years ago? Are schools really failing, or are we looking at education through an out of focus lens?

We would love to invite you to this Saturday's Rewild Camp, an afternoon rewilding social networking picnic where people make new friends and hang out with old friends and family while sharing skills, ideas and strategies for creating new cultures based on our hunter-gatherer ancestral heritage.
The theme for this week’s Rewild Camp is: EVERYTHING ARCHERY! That means: flint-knappin', bow-making, arrow making, cordage making and of course, shooting arrows. As always, the theme can be ignored and you can just come and work on whatever project you want.
The largest non-traditional career fair of its kind, Oregon Tradeswomen, Inc. produces the interactive Women in Trades Career Fair to increase the overall number of women working in the trades and to help fill the eminent gap in the labor force that will be created with record-levels of upcoming retirements of skilled trades people.
Produced annually since 1993, this unique, industry sponsored and volunteer powered event offers dozens of hands-on activities designed to introduce women and girls to the possibility of a future career in the trades.

At InFARMation this month there will be a panel discussion regarding The Agricultural Reclamation Act and Eaters. The panel will break down the panelists experiences with this grassroots movement and why it's important, but will also talk about what is happening as a result of the ARA, and why it is so important that Eaters both understand and participate.
Our five-day, hands-on program offers two distinct tracks for professionals and graduate students: Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems and Sustainable Urban Built Environments.
With an emphasis on field exploration and hands-on discovery, participants will meet and interact with nationally recognized business leaders and experts who have put sustainability at the forefront of their work.
